Balmoral Made to Measure Braemar Tweed Jacket in 5 colours
Produced to your own specifications with bespoke made to measure tailoring and the iconic sophistication of tweed, this Braemar jacket will hang perfectly and be treasured for years to come.
Every gentleman should have the opportunity to feel the bespoke quality of tailoring that goes into a made to measure jacket, not to mention the time and dedication. This semiformal tweed day / evening jacket is similar in most ways to the Argyll (or Argyle), but with Prince Charlie style cuffs for a touch more formality - the best of both! The iconic cut of tweed ensures the wearer an air of gentry, while also providing a stylish alternative to barathea. With tailoring to your exact specifications for a perfect fit, this jacket will keep its shape and always flatter the wearer.
How we make it:
Our Braemar jackets are made from top quality 13oz 100% pure new wool tweed cloth, with a single button on the front, two side vents, cuffs with 3 buttons, pocket flaps with 3 buttons, and flat cloth epaulettes. All buttons have washer and ring fittings.
When to wear it:
Also popular for being very versatile - you can alter the Braemar's formality by subtle accessories, so it is suitable for all sorts of occasions, such as dinners and Burns Suppers; balls, ceilidhs or other dances; weddings, graduations, or christenings; as well as Highland games or simply as general daywear.
What to wear it with:
Wear it during the daytime with a kilt in any tartan, a daywear sporran, and an ordinary collar and self-coloured tie (when footwear is a matter of choice). As more formal dress for evening events the Braemar jacket is best worn with a wing collar and bow tie, plus semi-dress sporran, and ghillie brogues are the appropriate choice for your feet. Like the Argyll, the Braemar jacket is generally worn open.
Your Choices:
We suggest bone buttons as standard, but you can specify Silver Gilt or Antique Silver buttons if you prefer.

Scotweb’s MD, Dr Nicholas J Fiddes, has written a free illustrated e-book, as a gift to help kilt lovers everywhere. In simple non-technical language it covers every aspect of buying a kilt, choosing your tartan, and accessorising an outfit for every occasion.
As a Governor of the Scottish Tartans Authority, and founder of the world’s first company to market kilts on the Internet (yes, Scotweb) no one is better qualified to offer such advice. Impartial and objective, this is a personal work and is not a Scotweb publication.
The made to order braemar jacket has exceeded my expatations in any coat i have ever owned. Going to a good tailor in the states, sending the measurments to your company in scotland, and your tailors made the jacket with such craftmenship you have won me over as a new customer. The staff that you have employeed is wonderful in ansewering any of my questions to my understanding.
Thank you,
James Lee
